Insulating Windshield Blackout
The windshield blackout cover features an insulating underside. The ability to block cold winter air radiating from the large glass surface is immensely helpful in maintaining a pleasant interior climate within the van during low outside temperatures.
A Perfect Fit for the Side Doors
The blackout covers for the side doors are made from a light-proof yet lightweight fabric. They feature a double-layer design, allowing them to be pulled over the side doors like a fitted hood. The windows situated between these layers of fabric can still be opened. A flap-open vent on the exterior of the hood then allows plenty of fresh air to flow into the camper van. Thanks to the integrated mosquito netting, insects stay safely outside. Thus, this blackout system not only ensures a comfortable atmosphere but also prevents condensation from forming on the interior surfaces of the windows after a night spent in the van.
Another added bonus is the set of storage pockets located on the interior side, providing a convenient place to keep small items always within easy reach.
Watertight—Even in the Rain
The fabric is water-repellent. No moisture can seep in, even through the gap between the door and the roof rail. When it rains, water simply beads up and rolls right off the fabric.
After a rainy night, you can usually just give the blackout cover a quick wipe-down and pack it away. However, if it has rained heavily—or after a snowfall—the outer surface of the fabric will be damp. In this case, you can place the damp sides against each other and roll the cover up loosely; this ensures your trunk remains largely dry. Then, as soon as the sun comes out, simply spread the sections out, and they will dry remarkably fast.The fabric is not UV-resistant. Prolonged exposure to strong sunlight may result in discoloration.

The covers are sized to provide blackout coverage even for side doors equipped with wind deflectors.
Installing the Blackout Covers
Here’s how to protect yourself from unwanted sunlight, heat, and cold:Lay the windshield blackout cover flat against the windshield. Secure it using the 4 fastening straps attached to the included self-adhesive Velcro patches inside the vehicle. To do this, stick the Velcro patches to the A-pillars, right inside the door jambs.
To darken the side windows, open the driver’s or passenger’s door and slip the corresponding side cover over it. The SpaceCamper logo should always be positioned on the outside, in the upper corner. Pull the cover down firmly and secure it around the side mirror using the Velcro fastener.
Now you can open the window, prop up the side vents using the exterior Velcro tabs, and let your van enjoy a breath of fresh air.
Packed Dimensions of the Blackout Covers
The side covers fold down compactly to a size slightly larger than a standard DIN A4 sheet. The windshield cover also folds down to a small size; due to its insulating layer, the resulting bundle is only slightly thicker than the side covers.Additional Information
