Protect your cab from light, cold, and heat with our blackout cover. Thanks to its insulating underside, it maintains a comfortable interior temperature by preventing both solar heat gain and heat loss to the outside.
With four interior attachment points located on the A-pillars, the windshield blackout cover stays securely in place.
With every order of a windshield blackout cover, we include adhesive Velcro patches designed to be attached to the interior A-pillars.
Watertight—Even in the Rain
The fabric is water-repellent. No moisture seeps in, even in the gap between the door and the roof rail. In rainy weather, water simply beads up and rolls off the fabric. After a rainy night, you can usually just give the cover a quick wipe-down and pack it away. However, if there has been heavy rain or snowfall, the outer surface of the fabric may be damp. In this case, you can fold the damp sides against each other and roll the cover up loosely; this ensures your trunk remains largely dry. Then, as soon as the sun comes out, simply spread the cover out again, and it will dry in no time.
Please note: The fabric is not UV-resistant. Prolonged exposure to strong sunlight may result in color fading.
Installing the Blackout Cover
Here is how to ensure your VW T4 stays pleasantly warm and dark:Lay the windshield blackout cover flat against the windshield. Secure it from inside the vehicle using the Velcro strips attached to the fabric (fastening to the A-pillars and into the door jambs). We provide four Velcro strips for this purpose, which you simply adhere to the door jambs near the A-pillars.
Packed Size of the Blackout Cover
The side panels of the blackout cover can be folded down to a compact size—approximately just slightly larger than a standard DIN A4 sheet. The windshield cover also folds down compactly; thanks to its insulating layer, the resulting bundle is only slightly thicker than the side panels.Additional Information
