Keep light out, let air in. With this cab blackout system, the interior of your van remains at a comfortable temperature; condensation stands no chance, and you won't be woken up at dawn by the first rays of sunlight. This light-proof blackout solution is available to cover the windshield, both front doors, the right-side sliding door, and both rear doors. By purchasing the complete set, you save €135 compared to buying the items individually. A particularly practical feature: the windows on the front doors can remain open while covered by the blackout hoods. Blackout, ventilation, and storage pockets—all in one.
Insulating Windshield Blackout
The windshield blackout cover features an insulating underside. The ability to block cold winter air radiating from the large glass surface is immensely helpful in maintaining a pleasant interior climate within the van during low outside temperatures.
A Perfect Fit for the Front Doors
The blackout covers for the front doors are made from a fabric that is both light-proof and lightweight. They feature a double-layer design, allowing them to be pulled over the front doors like a fitted hood. The windows situated between these layers of fabric can still be opened. A flap on the exterior of the hood can be opened to let plenty of fresh air into the camper van, while a built-in mosquito net ensures that insects stay safely outside.
Thus, the blackout cover not only creates a cozy atmosphere but also prevents condensation from forming on the inside of the windows after a night spent in the van.Another added benefit is the interior storage pockets, where small items can be kept close at hand.
Watertight—Even in the Rain
The fabric is water-repellent. No moisture seeps in, even in the gap between the door and the roof rail. In rainy weather, water simply beads up and rolls right off the fabric. After a rainy night, you can usually just give the cover a quick wipe-down and pack it away. However, if there has been heavy rain or snowfall, the exterior of the fabric will be damp. In this case, you can simply fold the damp sides against one another and roll the cover up loosely. This ensures that your trunk remains largely dry. Then, as soon as the sun comes out, you can spread the sections out, and they will dry in no time.
Please note that the fabric is not UV-resistant. Prolonged exposure to strong sunlight may result in discoloration.
Also Compatible with Doors Featuring Wind Deflectors
The covers are sized to ensure they can effectively black out front doors—even those equipped with wind deflectors.
Installing the Blackout Screens
Here is how to protect yourself from unwanted sunlight, heat, and cold:Lay the windshield blackout screen flat against the windshield. Secure it inside the vehicle using the Velcro strips attached to the fabric (fastening to the A-pillars and into the door jambs) and by tying the straps around the side mirrors.
To darken the front doors, open the driver's or passenger's door and slip the corresponding side blackout cover over it. The WaphiVan logo must always be positioned on the outside, in the upper corner. Pull the cover down as far as it goes and secure it using the straps around the side mirror.
Now you can open the window, prop up the side vents using the exterior Velcro fasteners, and let your van enjoy a breath of fresh air.
The blackout screens for the sliding door and the rear doors are installed just as simply, by placing them in position and securing them inside the vehicle using the Velcro strips.
Packed Size of the Blackout Screens
The blackout screens for the side and rear doors can be folded down compactly to a size slightly larger than a standard DIN A4 sheet. The windshield blackout screen also folds down flat; however, due to its insulating layer, the resulting bundle is slightly thicker than the other components.Additional Information
